The Hanging House is a place designed to let guests disconnect and enjoy nature. There’s no TV or wi-fi connection and instead one can admire the beautiful views, interact with others and spend time outdoors. The house was designed and built by studioCasa Container Maríliaand is located in Campos Novos, Brazil. Over 70% of all materials used throughout this project are recycled.
The house is made out ofreclaimed shipping containersand uses reclaimed wood on its walls and ceilings. Furthermore, the interior doors are made from reused plates from the containers. In tone with the sustainable nature of the project, the house also has amodular green roof雨水收集系统,以及其他mal and acoustic insulation. There’s cross-ventilation throughout the spaces and no air conditioning system is used.
The entire structure is elevated from the natural ground level, which is the most striking detail about this entire project. The house is supported on a series of metal pillars that form a V system and the foundation uses a minimal amount ofconcrete。这样做是为了减少的影响the building has on the ground, to protect the root system of the trees and to preserve the soil. As a result, the windows are aligned with the treetops, the views are better and the entire house is sheltered by the canopies of the trees which provide shade all day long. With all these things in mind, this little country house would have to be one of the most interesting and environmentally-friendly builds we’ve come across lately. It’s a really inspiring project which we could all learn something from.
