Two Complementary Houses Form A Stylish Home Bordered By A Trail
The Lawrence region in the United States is known for its beautiful large trees and its green fields due to the soil rich in nutrients. This is whereStudio 804spent a whole year working on an amazing project, a residence inspired by the beautiful farmsteads specific to this region and by the charming rural flair of the area.
They designed and built two structures. One is the main house and the other is an accessory dwelling, like a smaller second house on the same lot which acts as anextension and additionto the primary building. The project was completed earlier this year and is a special one in the sense that it combines different elements inspired by various concepts.
这两个房子的整体设计是simple andmodernone, with very clean lines and a minimalist geometry. At the same time, both structures have classicgable roofswhich gives them a retro and rural appearance. The designers also worked hard to make this a sustainable residence and tried to reduce its footprint and to keep the cost and energy requirements low in general.
The two houses share the same style, design and overall aesthetic and they complement each other in every way.Solar panelswere installed on the roof but only on the South-facing side so they remain hidden from the courtyard. The exterior walls for both houses have very good insulation which exceeds normal standards which pairs well with its minimalist and sustainable overall design.
